We love teaming up with companies that care as much as we do, no matter how many states away they are!
It’s Friday night of Memorial Day Weekend 2019 in Palm Bay, FL. A marina customer has a leaking cylinder that if not repaired, will prevent over 120 boats from making it into the water for the holiday weekend. Your regular supplier is closed for the holiday. What do you do?
YOU CALL EXCEL HYDRAULICS IN NEW JERSEY OF COURSE!
Steven Henry of Mercury Hydraulics out of Florida, contacted Excel Hydraulics’ after-hours phone on the evening of Friday 5/24/19. He spoke with Excels’ veteran field specialist Jason Scheuren who without hesitation jumped at the chance to help knowing how crucial it is for a marina to run properly, especially on a holiday weekend. Jason explained that if it was not a stock item that was required, then Excel would custom manufacture the seals and ship them to Florida immediately. Steven’s team had the cylinder disassembled within hours and determined that the problem was a blown piston seal. The u-cup dimensions were sent to Excel Hydraulics and immediately directed to Parts Manager, Rock Griffin. Rock determined that the parts needed were in fact part of Excel’s abundant onsite inventory.
Steven notified Excel that he would take the first flight out and be in New Jersey Saturday to pick up the seals. He landed at the Philadelphia Airport, got into a car service and sure enough he arrived at Excel Hydraulics’ service counter in Clarksboro, NJ by 2:30pm on Saturday! Waiting for him was Excel’s Rock Griffin with the parts ready for pick up. Invoicing was complete and back to the Philadelphia Airport Steven went. The Florida marina was back up and functioning properly by Sunday morning!
Thank you, Mercury Hydraulics, for trusting Excel and giving us the opportunity to help make the holiday weekend smooth sailing for many people.
